The best morning run, ever.

I had the best run I had ever had this morning.  It was perfect.  I awoke at about 6:00 am, and I was not particularly groggy.  I put on my shoes and running clothes, and started out on a typical run.  The clouds were beautiful this morning.  It looked like it was going to rain.  I was planning on running about 25 minutes.  I am just getting back into running, so I started out a bit slow. Twenty minutes into the run, it started to rain.  The rain was not too hard to be uncomfortable, it was light, cool, and refreshing.  After about twenty minutes of running, I walked in the rain for about 10 minutes.  Typically, I have a hard time relaxing and letting go of the thoughts and worries of the day, however, this did it for me.

After standing outside cooling down, I went in to the air-conditioned house, where I ate breakfast, and just relaxed.  The air-conditioning was a bit cool because I was wet.  When I finished my breakfast, I went upstairs and took a warm shower.  I do not tend to enjoy warm showers in the summer, but this was the first one in a long time that was met with anticipation.  The rain, the air-conditioning, and a warm shower made for the best morning run, ever.
